Physical Therapy
Our licensed physical therapists are highly-skilled, experiences professionals whose goal is to help the patient achieve the highest level of functional independence as possible. Their focus in on functional mobility. Under the direction of a physician, the physical therapist provides the following services;
- Evaluation of therapy needs
- Therapeutic exercise training for strength, endurance, coordination, and balance
- Transfer and gait training, including how to use a walker, cane, or prosthesis
- Muscle re-education, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound treatment
- Safety instruction
- Patient and family education
- Assistance with obtaining special equipment
Occupational Therapy
Our licensed occupational therapists are highly skilled professionals with many years home care experience. In the home setting, the occupational therapist evaluates and treats patients that have limitations in performing their activities of daily living. The occupational therapist focuses on compensatory strategies, adaptive equipment, and environmental adaptations to maximize the patient’s level of independence and safety in their own home. Under the direction of the physician, the occupational therapist provides the following services;
- Evaluation of therapy needs
- Therapeutic activities for strength, coordination, and range of motion
- Activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, etc.)
- Transfer living (tub, shower, toilet, wheelchair, etc.)
- Instrumental activities of daily living (meal preparation, laundry, home management, etc.)
- Cognitive re-education
- Perceptual compensations
- Low-vision instructions and recommendations
- Fall prevention and safety training
- Education of the patient and caregivers to coordinate and reinforce treatment
Speech Therapy
Our certified speech pathologists have expertise and experience in treating communication and swallowing disorders. Under the direct supervision on the physician, they provide the following services;
- Evaluation of therapy needs
- Treatment of language disorders, aphasia, speech articulation defects, and voice disorders
- Establishment of augmentative communication systems
- Treatment of dysphagia and swallowing retaining
- Cognitive retraining, including memory and problem solving
- Patient and family education
